Sam Newman Critcally Ill

March 5th 2008 07:07

News tonight has surfaced that AFL and Geelong Legend Sam Newman is critically ill in hospital.

Newman was admitted to hospital earlier today and had surgery to remove cancer from his prostrate.

The sample will be sent off with tests to be conducted.

Currently doctors are unsure as to whether it has spread through his body.

A special on Channel 9's show 60minutes is set to air a special on Newman on Sunday night.

I'm not into AFL but it is really sad to hear of such illness striking anyone, I hope he recovers.

Gee,
bad news, and as annoying as Sam is at times, the Footy Show would not be the same without him.

Still, maybe it is prostate, or hopefully it is testicular, as that is easier to cure.

If he does recover, I pity the bastard when he has to show up at the Footy Show again...not to be missed!

cheers

I'm not his biggest fan but I hope that he recovers from it. Don't want anyone to suffer that kind of painful end.

Get well soon sam

I hope you might read this Sam Newman - watching the footage of your operation and hearing the wonderful news that you are all clear made me cry with joy - heaven knows why really as I've seen the Footy Show once or twice but I don't care for football and I've never posted a blog before about anything, ever. I just have to say that I'm so very glad that you are well. I'm certain that your high profile will raise awareness of this dreadful disease. I sincerely congratulate you on your bravery and generous spirit, to share your experience with the world for the good of menkind. Wishing all the very best Mr Newman - Regards Jendi
